I have great pleasure in commending MarriageWorks, which is an exceptionally information rich and interactive series of workshops for Christian Couples. The program is targeted towards those who are committed to growing a vital marriage together, which will not only help them survive some of the common pitfalls, but also experience all that God intended marriage to be. I consider it a privilege to have participated in such a wonderful and impacting project.

There is an old saying which declares that "as goes the family, so goes the nation. As goes the nation, so goes the world." Nothing is more fundamental than healthy marriages.

The world is fragmenting but the family is the glue that holds it together and the family only survives if marriages are secure.

Jim and Grace have produced the most carefully researched marriage improvement program available. Be involved in it and good marriages will become better, and shaky marriages will become secure. I commend the program whole-heartedly.

Rev. Dr Gordon Moyes Wesley Mission, Sydney

"MarriageWorks is excellent. It comprehensively identifies areas in which marriage struggles occur. From God's objective revealed truth it searches for answers. It's contemporary straight talk. It's what we need to hear. Jim and Grace have engaged outstanding professionals to help them. 'Till death us do part' is still a commitment that God intended. MarriageWorks points the way. An extremely valuable study."

Rev Robert Benn National Director of the Presbyterian World Mission.

"Love for God and love for others are the two great principles upon which the Lord's requirements for human behaviour are built. The Vine's have come to love God because of their knowledge of His love for them in Christ. Their desire is to see others blessed as they have been blessed by their relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. MarriageWorks is is a program designed to help others find that quality of life and love in marriage which was God's original intention for the human race. I wish them the blessings of God on this program as they offer it for use both in churches and with other groups seeking to discover joy and strength in marriage. With the current trends in marriage breakdown and all the disappointment and hurt that this brings, an effort such as MarriageWorks is to be commended for its desire to help people discover the good that
God intended marriage to be."

R.H. Goodhew former Anglican Archbishop of Sydney.

After reviewing some of the video series MarriageWorks I believe they would be very helpful in helping people to think through the issues that will make for a healthy marriage.

There is a great need for material that can be used greatly BEFORE the crisis takes hold. So often help is called for when separation is the subject.

The addition of interviews by marriage and relationship specialists is most helpful.

I would recommend that churches use MarriageWorks as a regular ministry series in the congregations.

Rev. Lester Kelly Senior Pastor: Townsville District Baptist Church

"With 900 marriages failing weekly, clearly the time has come to review the foundations on which we base this significant covenant. Jim and Grace Vine's well produced and thoughtful presentation will provoke discussion in areas that need to be reviewed."

Mal Garvin Executive Director and Founder Fusion.

The institution of marriage is under severe stress in contemporary culture. Marriages are breaking up at increasing rates, and long-term marriages are becoming more rare.

To counter these trends, there exist many fine marriage education courses, many from the US and the UK. The work of James Dobson and Focus on the Family comes to mind. However, it is hard to find a good "home grown" marriage course.

One excellent course produced in Australia is MarriageWorks. This professionally produced video and book series is the work of Jim and Grace Vine of Brisbane, who have spent over 20 years in the area of marriage and family counselling.

This 12-part series is an informative and helpful tool, giving couples practical advice and insight into the world of marriage. The course, which is suitable for engaged couples as well as marrieds, is a comprehensive and detailed series of lectures, role plays, and interviews, that cover all the important aspects of married life. Interviews with marriage and family experts make this course even more helpful.

Subjects covered include: essentials for an ideal marriage; how self-esteem affects marriage; communication skills; the power of forgiveness; emotional and physical expressions of love; and creating intimacy.

Based on a Christian worldview, this series offers a wealth of information and guidelines for couples who live in a culture hostile to marriage.

Indeed, we now live in a culture of divorce, and it takes real effort to make a marriage work. This series will do much to help couples have a happy and lasting marriage, and will help to reverse our culture of divorce.
